OHB Technology AG takes over Thales Alenia Space Antwerp N.V. in expanding European presence
Today OHB Technology AG (Prime Standard, ISIN: DE0005936124) acquired 100% of the shares of Thales Alenia Space Antwerp N.V., Antwerp, Belgium, from Thales Alenia Space France SAS.
In the year 2009, Thales Alenia Space Antwerp N.V. generated sales of approximately EUR 10 million with 42 employees.
Thales Alenia Space Antwerp N.V. is specialized in the development and manufacture of ground stations equipments used particularly in telecommunications and earth observation. The company builds the network interconnecting the ground stations of the future European satellite-based navigation system, Galileo*. The acquired product portfolio strengthens the activities of the OHB Group in the field of ground segments.
With this acquisition, OHB consistently pursues its European growth strategy with regard to ESA (European Space Agency) member states. As ESA's fifth-largest contributor, Belgium is a key player of future ESA programmes.
